Han Solo’s Millennium Falcon will reportedly feature in Star Wars Episode 7, along with the infamous Mos Eisley Cantina.
A set for the iconic ship, which lent its firepower to the Rebel
Alliance’s attack on the Death Star in the original Star Wars trilogy,
is believed to have already been constructed at the project’s Pinewood
Studios film location.
The Latino Review claims it is ready for filming in early 2014, while
Talkbacker quotes a source as saying that a power plant and cantina
will feature too.
‘… yes the falcon will make a big appearance, 1.1 scale size
cross-section is being constructed over at Pinewood, along with a power
plant set and the famous cantina,’ the source allegedly said in an
email.
The cantina was the setting for one of Star Wars’ best-loved scenes,
in which Obi-Wan Kenobi slices off the arm of a belligerent mercenary
with a lightsabre as an alien jazz band play in the background.
Last week, Disney confirmed a series of spin-off movies that will focus on the origins of some of the Star Wars universe’s most popular characters.
Star Wars: Episode VII will hit cinemas in 2015, with Harrison Ford,
Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher expected to reprise their roles.
