New Terminator 5 Casting Rumor Suggests Tom Hardy will Battle Arnold Schwarzenegger!

Getting excited for Terminator 5? So are we, and the news / rumors regarding the fifth Terminator's casting situation just keep getting better and better. In addition to some potentially terrific casting news, we also learn more of T5's plot, and the rolw to-be-played by action movie legend, Arnold Schwarzenegger! Read on for the details!

Okay, to start things off, THR recently leaked some info regarding a potential new actor, who will reprise the role of the iconic character, John Connor and his name is Tom Hardy. Yes, the Bane of Batman's existence, and the new Road Warrior in Mad Max: Fury Road, is potentially in talks to play John Connor in Terminator 5 - how awesome! Tom Hardy has proven himself to be formidable talent, and brings an immense pressence to the screen - something we're in dire need of since Terminator: Salvation.

However, although THR mentions that currently no negotiations have taken place between Hardy and Paramount for the role, sources tell them that director Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones) has him on his "wish list" - and we don't blame him!

Following up with this excitinr rumor is a potential plot leak, where the role of Arnold Schwarzenegger is revealed. According again to THR, Schwarzenegger will be portraying the role of a 'protector' Terminator, sent back in time to guard John Connor's mother, Sarah Connor, who will potentially be played by Margot Robbie (Game of Thrones).

THR reports:
"Arnold Schwarzenegger will be back as a Terminator robot in a time-spanning story that sees him tasked to protect Sarah Connor as she grows up.

But John Connor is also back and sources say Taylor's wish list starts with Tom Hardy(Christopher Nolan's memorable Bane in The Dark Knight Rises), although at this stage not even a meeting has taken place."

So far, the casting call and plot rumors for Terminator 5 are sounding great. It's important to note that currently, T5 is set to be a continuation of the previous films, but with a new set of characters (minus Schwarzenegger of course).

As we await more news on the development on Terminator 5, be sure to like our Terminator 5 News Facebook page and follow our T5 Twitter account for the latest updates!

Legendary Pictures Godzilla WILL Have Atomic Breath

Urban Collector just can't keep a secret it seems. CosmicBookMovieNews caught the toy manufacturer posting a detail of their upcoming Godzilla figures and noticed this:

"Godzilla 2014 Movie Deluxe Attack & Roar Action Figure Asst is an Urban Collector pre-order. With collector-level detailing, this large scale figure brings the new Godzilla to life as he blasts his powerful atomic breath and lets out his iconic roar! Figure measuresapproximately 10' tall, and features authentic sounds and 'atomic breath' action. Openbox packaging."
Not soon after, Urban Collector took down the information. This is the second bit of news that Urban Collector has let slip. The first one, was the name of one of the kaiju Godzilla will take on in the movie is called Muto.

The atomic breath of Godzilla is a signature attack of the King of the Monsters, though it was absence in the first US attempt of Godzilla in 1998 (though it did appear on the cartoon, which was hundred times better than the actual movie). Blue or red it appears Legendary Pictures is making sure not to retread any of the mistakes of it's US predecessor.

Prometheus sequel script ready to go, says Ridley Scott

Concept Art
The screenplay for Ridley Scott’s sequel to science fiction thriller Prometheus has been completed, the British film-maker has told Empire magazine.

Scott, 75, said the script by Jack Paglen was finished and described his return to science fiction on the 2012 film as a “great experience”. “Prometheus 2 is written,” he said. “I have already got the next two films ready to go. That will be 2014, 2015.”
“I thought I’d left science-fiction for too long, that I had better climb back in. Prometheus was a great experience for me. Chasing number two, we can start evolving the grand idea.”
Prometheus, which starred Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender and Idris Elba, centred on the human crew of a spaceship sent to investigate a distant planet where the answers to mankind’s origins may lie hidden. The film, written by Lost’s Damon Lindelof, is famous for answering almost none of the questions it initially posed and culminating with an open-ended finale which left plenty of room for a sequel. Complicating matters is the fact that the film exists within the same universe as Scott’s classic 1979 space slasher flick Alien.
Paglen is the writer of the the upcoming sci-fi thriller Transcendence. Scott’s next film is likely to be Moses tale Exodus, starring Christian Bale, Aaron Paul, Sigourney Weaver, Joel Edgerton and Ben Kingsley. His 2015 project could be either Prometheus 2 or (more likely) the previously announced The Forever War, yet another sci-fi project based on the 1974 Joe Halderon novel about a soldier who returns home from space to find his now-unrecognisable home planet has advanced many years into the future. Scott has also touted a big screen take on Aldous Huxley’s classic dystopian novel Brave New World, though there has been little news about the project since 2008. He is still said to be planning a sequel to his iconic 1982 cold-hearted future vision, Blade Runner.
Michael Fassbender, who played android David in Prometheus, described the slow gestation process for the sequel as a positive thing. “You know, it takes time,” he said. “I don’t want them to rush it. I mean the reason that Pixar movies are so amazing is because they spend years throwing it out the window, re-jigging it, coming up with an idea, breaking it down, starting again, you know.
“So to make it correctly, I think it’s actually very encouraging. Because a lot of the times they’re like ‘we made some money let’s jump on the back of this. We wanna make more money again as soon as possible. [But] it’s nice to actually have a little bit of time to develop it.”

R2-D2 is centre of attention in brand new Star Wars VII production shot

Sneak peak: Producers Bad Robot tweeted this first production shot from Star Wars episode VII
A brand new snap from the forthcoming Star Wars Episode VII film has been posted on Twitter.
Bad Robot Productions, the company fronted by film director J.J. Abrams and producer Bryan Burk, tweeted the picture - to the excitement of Star Wars fans everywhere.

It's safe to say that cheeky droid R2-D2 will be featuring in the sci-fi follow-up, as he was right in the middle of the action in the photo.

The team captioned the picture: "Hi from the workshop!"

Earlier this week, Disney boss Bob Iger confirmed that the film is currently six months behind the scheduled release - which is now December 2015.

Production will begin filming at the beginning of 2014 at Pinewood Studios, while open casting sessions are currently being held across the country.

The space adventure film is being directed by J.J. Abrams, who is also co-scripting the flick.

Last week also saw the most despised Star Wars character meet an untimely death in a viral YouTube video - as Jar Jar Binks was washed over the edge of a waterfall.

Unluckily for us, the clip was merely an edited version of a deleted scene from Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace...

Samuel L. Jackson Says ‘Star Wars: Episode 7′ Director J.J. Abrams Hasn’t Contacted Mark Hamill

‘Star Wars: Episode 7‘ has been rumoring the return of original cast members since the project was announced, but as the film is taking a new direction now that J.J. Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan have taken over scripting duties, it’s possible that the original cast may no longer have a role in the production. Former Jedi Samuel L. Jackson has spoken to Mark Hamill about returning as Luke Skywalker, and revealed that Hamill hasn’t spoken to Abrams.

This happened on ‘The Late Show with David Letterman‘ (a clip we were alerted to by Jedi News) where Jackson confirmed he has no involvement in the new ‘Star Wars,’ that Hamill hasn’t heard from Abrams, and that Ewan McGregor — who played a young Obi-Wan Kenobi — hasn’t been contacted either. At least not yet.

Early word suggested that Hamill’s role was confirmed by Kathleen Kennedy, the new producer on the series, and there were rumors that he was already in training to come back, while the actor has previously speculated about his role. Of course, getting Mark Hamill to return and making sure he’s available might not be on the highest of priorities for Abrams and company as they’ve obviously had a dramatic course change with the direction of the first episode of the new trilogy and all word is that they’re going to have to start moving forward quickly if they’re to meet the announced December 18, 2015 release date. Then again, this is J.J. Abrams’ ‘Star Wars,’ and it’s likely we won’t know for sure who’s in or out of the movie until it actually screens.

J.J. Abrams Is “Constantly Talking” With George Lucas About ‘Star Wars’

When Disney bought Lucasfilm last year there was some rejoicing, based in part on the idea that new Star Wars projects might take shape away from the influence of creator George Lucas. It’s rare that a core fanbase wants to see new episodes of a storyline created without the person who gave the series in question original life, but this is Star Wars, and after the prequel trilogy it was time for some new blood.

The new blood includes, of course, director J.J. Abrams and screenwriter Michael Arndt. They took up the task of making Star Wars Episode VII, working from where Lucas had left off. See, Lucas had started developing the new Star Wars film about a year before the sale of Lucasfilm. (Which was a canny strategy — it’s one thing to know that the sale included the right to make new Star Wars films, and quite another to go into it knowing a plan was already in place.)

Lucas stepped back to a consulting role after the sale, but if you thought Abrams was going to develop Episode VII without much consultation with Lucas, think again. George Lucas’ son says that the two have been “constantly talking” about Star Wars as the new film is developed.

George Lucas’ son, Jett Lucas, described the elder Lucas’ feelings about the sale as “very torn” and said that his father has created “guidelines” for Episode VII. That comes from an interview with Flicks and the City (via Mashable), where the younger Lucas also explains that his father had started developing the new film about a year before the sale to Disney.
He also said,
…yeah, as any parent watching their kid going to college would. He’s constantly talking to J.J. [Abrams, director of Episode VII]. Obviously J.J. was handpicked. He [Lucas] is there to guide, whenever, he’ll help where he can. At the same time, he wants to let it go and become its new generation.
What this means, precisely, is something we won’t see for a while. And in the end, it may be impossible to tell where Lucas’ influence on Episode VII ends and Abrams’ and others begins.
Oh, and for those super-curious about what story the new film will tell, Jett Lucas also said, ”I already know what happens [in Episode VII]… I’m happy with what’s going to happen.”

'Warcraft' movie slated for December 18th, 2015 release

The Warcraft movie now has a release date — December 18th, 2015. The feature film based on Blizzard's hugely popular World of Warcraft series of video games will be directed by Duncan Jones, the filmmaker behind the critically acclaimed sci-fi thrillers Moon and Source Code. Charles Leavitt, who penned the Leonardo DiCaprio political drama Blood Diamond, is writing the movie; Legendary Pictures and Universal Pictures are handling financing and distribution. Warcraft's December release puts it at the end of a year that will be packed with tentpole flicks including Star Wars: Episode VIIAvengers: Age Of UltronAnt-ManJurassic World, and the Ben Affleck-as-Batman sequel to Man of Steel.

Unlike Jones' previous films, which had smaller budgets in the $35 million range, Warcraft is set to be a big, CGI-filled, blockbuster with a reported budget of more than $100 million. So far, Legendary has largely succeeded at bringing fantasy and spectacle to the big screen with hits such as 300, Inception, Man of Steel, and the Dark Knight Trilogy. Shooting is set to start early next year, but there's no official word on who'll inhabit the world of Azeroth on the big screen just yet.

Chloe Moretz Denies 'Star Wars Episode 7' Casting Rumor

Contrary to the swirling rumor, Chloe Moretz is not auditioning for "Star Wars Episode 7". It was the "Kick-Ass" actress herself who denied the suggestion that she was eying a role in the upcoming J.J. Abrams project.

"No, no rumors I don't know how they get started," she told Latino-Review. "But it would be great to be a part of it. I don't think Disney doesn't know what's really going to happen. I don't even think they cast the principle roles yet."

Actually, the rumor began brewing after Moretz, 16, posted numerous "Star Wars"-related tweets earlier this year. "Already on episode III revenge of the sith. Today was productive," she teased in one of the messages.

Unlike Moretz, Saoirse Ronan confirmed she did go for the movie's audition. She even revealed that she wielded lightsaber, but insisted she didn't read the script, "Nobody has a clue what it's about, and nobody's read the script."

She also played coy when asked about the role she's eying, "So many people I know have gone in for the part I've gone in for, and guys who've gone in for a particular part, so I'd imagine J.J. is probably just scanning the earth to find the people that he needs."

"You know what? Even if I don't get it, I had so much fun auditioning," she said on the Empire podcast, "Pretending to take out a lightsaber - out of a bag, kind of inspect it and not know what it is. That was... that was great. A lightsaber! Star Wars!"

28 Months Later?

Danny Boyle has since mentioned that he'd like to direct a 3rd installment, but it won't be anytime too soon.

The often rumored sequel to the 28 Days Later franchise is still M.I.A. even though director Danny Boyle has talked about wanting to return to take on the third installment. So what's the holdup?
When are we finally going to see that sequel? In a recent interview with Wired, Danny Boyle revealed his thoughts on when that sequel could come and…it's not good.
Given what we’ve just been talking about, it’s very difficult to know whether zombies are overexposed now as a concept. So it’s 40/60 whether it happens or not. But we did have an idea of where to set it and what it might be about.
Of course Danny wouldn't reveal what that sequel idea was, but it's at least reassuring to know that they do have some sort of plan. Though, from the sounds of it, Danny doesn't seem to be chomping at the bit to get back to his quasi-zombie movie.

If there's an idea though, perhaps he'll step back again and allow someone else to take over directorial duties. It may not be in Danny Boyle's future, but that doesn't mean the project is completely dead in the water.

Terminator 5 Release Dates Moves Up to Fourth of July 2015

by David Konow of www.tgdaily.com

It may not be the smartest idea in Hollywood, but at least it’s a little smarter than Batman Vs Superman. Yes, it looks like another Terminator movie is indeed moving forward, and now it’s moving up to one of the biggest blockbuster periods of the year: Fourth of July weekend.

As Giant Freakin Robot tells us, Paramount, who currently own the Terminator rights, are moving the release date up from June 26, 2015, to July 1. This means it will go head to head with the long awaited sequel to Independence Day, which is scheduled for July 3.

Like many blockbusters competing for a big release date, this will probably turn into a big game of chicken to see who will back out first. It’s still a ways away, but delays could happen, especially with special FX and budget issues. It would be suicidal to try and release both movies on practically the same date, and it will be interesting to see who’ll back out first. (Or if they both stay on their release dates, causing an all out box office war.)

We’ve made it pretty clear here on TGD that we’re not nuts about the prospect of another Terminator movie. Without James Cameron helming, and without a younger Arnold, it’s just not going to have the impact the first two masterpieces had. We’re still open to be proven wrong, and if the tumors are true that the next Terminator could be a prequel set in the 40’s or 50’s are true, it could certainly be different than the usual sci-fi / action route the movie could take. Stay tuned…

Ron Howard Gives Updates On The Dark Tower Film

by Jill Pantozzi of www.themarysue.com

Ever wonder what happened to the adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower? Ron Howard has a few answers for you.

The last time we did a story on The Dark Tower film was back in August of 2012. That’s when Warner Bros. decided to pass on the project after Universal already had. It was said Media Rights Capital (Elysium) was then trying to pick up The Dark Tower from Imagine Entertainment.

Empire Online has an exclusive discussion with the director from a recent podcast episode. Here’s what he said:
The Dark Tower is something that we’re still working on. We’ve all taken a vow of silence about the progress, the headway, what we think our timetable is, because I don’t think I realised how much media interest there was in the title and how much excitement there was.

“It’s a fascinating, powerful possibility and even Stephen King acknowledges it’s a tricky adaptation, but to be honest, from a financing side, it’s not a straightforward, four-quadrant, sunny superhero story – it’s dark, it’s horror. That edge is what appeals to me, the complexities of those characters is what appeals to all of us. And I think Stephen King really respects that, with [regular screenwriting collaborator] Akiva Goldsman and myself, that that’s what we love about it, and that’s what we want to try to get to the screen.

“So my answer is: it got delayed, it’s never gone away. We’re working on it, and Stephen is very patient with us, and Akiva’s just gone off and directed a movie [an adaptation of Mark Helprin’s novel, Winter’s Tale, starring Colin Farrell, Russell Crowe, Jessica Brown Findlay, Jennifer Connelly and Will Smith], I’m continuing to work, but the Dark Tower dreams – fever dreams, rather – are still there, but we’re not going to give it a timetable.”
So basically, it’s still happening, they just aren’t putting pressure on it like so many other Hollywood projects. I think that’s probably wise.

Mark Hamill uses force of the gym to shape up for Star Wars: Episode VII

Mark Hamill is getting in shape to return to his role as Jedi knight Luke Skywalker in the forthcoming Star Wars: Episode VII, according to his friend Robert Englund.

The Nightmare on Elm Street actor, who is credited with inspiring Hamill to try out for the role in 1977's Star Wars, said the new Skywalker would be fighting fit when director JJ Abrams begins shooting early next year in London.

"They've got Mark in the gym," said Englund, who played horror icon Freddie Krueger in multiple Nightmare on Elm Street films. "Because Mark's coming back as Luke Skywalker. They've got him doing his sit-ups."

Speaking at the Nashville Comic Expo, in comments first reported by ComicBook.com, Englund recalled his own small part in bringing his then housemate to the attention of Star Wars creator George Lucas. "I got to read for Han Solo in Star Wars," he explained. "Well, I didn't get the part because I was too young. But while I was there, I read the descriptions of the other characters.

"Mark was on my couch with a Heineken in one hand and a slab of cold pizza in the other. So, I said, 'Mark, I think you might be right for this Luke Skywalker'. He got on the phone and the rest was history."

Original Star Wars heroes: from left, Jedi knight Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) and Han Solo (Harrison Ford).

The news that Hamill, 61, will be back in shape for the role which made his name may come as some relief to fans of the series, who have been vocal over their concerns that the actor is less battle-ready than he once was. There have been tabloid rumours that Carrie Fisher, 56, who is set to return as Princess Leia, has also been asked to get into shape. Harrison Ford, who played Han Solo, is the third member of the iconic trio from the original trilogy (episodes IV-VI in George Lucas's extended saga) expected to return in Episode VII, which is set to hit cinemas in 2015.

Millennium Falcon and Cantina ‘to return’ in Star Wars Episode 7

by Christopher Hooton of www.metro.co.uk

Han Solo’s Millennium Falcon will reportedly feature in Star Wars Episode 7, along with the infamous Mos Eisley Cantina.

A set for the iconic ship, which lent its firepower to the Rebel Alliance’s attack on the Death Star in the original Star Wars trilogy, is believed to have already been constructed at the project’s Pinewood Studios film location.

The Latino Review claims it is ready for filming in early 2014, while Talkbacker quotes a source as saying that a power plant and cantina will feature too.

‘… yes the falcon will make a big appearance, 1.1 scale size cross-section is being constructed over at Pinewood, along with a power plant set and the famous cantina,’ the source allegedly said in an email.

The cantina was the setting for one of Star Wars’ best-loved scenes, in which Obi-Wan Kenobi slices off the arm of a belligerent mercenary with a lightsabre as an alien jazz band play in the background.

Last week, Disney confirmed a series of spin-off movies that will focus on the origins of some of the Star Wars universe’s most popular characters.

Star Wars: Episode VII will hit cinemas in 2015, with Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher expected to reprise their roles.

Emperor Palpatine to return in Star Wars Episode 7?

Ian McDiarmid will reportedly reprise his role as Emperor Palpatine in JJ Abrams’ upcoming blockbuster, according to Jedi News.

The site reports: ‘An unnamed source has informed us that Ian McDiarmid is set to return to the galaxy far, far away for a part in Episode 7.

‘The specifics of the role are unclear, but it seems likely that McDiarmid will be returning to his signature role of Palpatine.

‘Whether as the original [Palpatine] or a clone of, we are yet to discern.’

McDiarmid previously told USA Today that he didn’t think Palpatine would be back in the new films.

Talking of his death in Return of the Jedi after Darth Vader threw him into the Death Star’s reactor shaft, he said: ‘I remember it well because it took about a week to get me down that chute with the wires and flying.

‘I remember saying, ‘Is he dead, George [Lucas]?’ at the time, and he said, ‘Yes, he is. Absolutely dead.”

He added: ‘I guess that means he can’t survive and do Episode 7, unless of course he’d been clever enough to clone himself. He’s certainly clever enough, but I don’t know if he had that idea or not.’

Star Wars Episode 7 is scheduled for release in 2015.

'Star Wars 7' News, Live Action TV Show: Lucasfilm & ABC in Talks as J.J. Abrams Preps 2015's 'Episode VII' With No Casting Announcements Yet

by John Niles

With the Disney D3 2013 Expo just around the corner, Star Wars fans can expect some big announcements in regards to Episode VII, which is due out in theaters in 2015. Some announcements might include plot reveals, casting news and concept art. Expect to see J.J. Abrams as well as producer Kathleen Kennedy making some huge announcements. But a recent meeting between ABC and Lucasfilm could also produce some announcements that don't involve the 2015 film. In fact, reports are saying that a live-action television series is in the works!

Though this is not a confirmed report, the idea is not far-fetched. For instance, Disney also owns Marvel and ABC is about to enter its first season with the new series "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." This series is obviously working off of the success of Marvel's The Avengers, which broke box office records last year.

So when you hear rumors of a possible Star Wars-themed television show coming to ABC, do not write it off as a rumor. In fact, Disney's ABC Entertainment Group president Paul Lee recently revealed that these meetings have in fact been going on.

"We've started conversations with them," he said. "I have an inkling in my mind, but they have a lot on their plate."

Disney also has an upcoming animated, CGI Star Wars series coming out on their Disney XD channel. "Star Wars Rebels" takes place between Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, in which the "Galactic Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking form."

Which project are you more excited about: Episode VII, Rebels or this live-action television series that is reportedly in the works?

'Star Wars: Episode 7' Producer Promises Real Locations and Effects

by Drew Taylor

One of the overriding problems with the "Star Wars" prequel trilogy was that there was precious little in the way of actual locations or sets. Most of the time, actors would be stumbling around a giant empty green warehouse, with everything -- sets, environments, other characters -- filled in later. Now, this would have been fine had the entire thing worked convincingly, but more often than not you could feel that the actors were walking around a giant empty green warehouse, trying desperately to connect with imaginary stuff they wouldn't see until the movie was done.

Thankfully, the new trilogy, which begins with "Star Wars: Episode VII," directed by J.J. Abrams, will have more of the tactile and less of the computerized ephemeral, at least according to one of its producers.

While speaking at the Star Wars Celebration in Essen, Germany, which is basically like Comic-Con but devoted exclusively to "Star Wars," executive producer Kathleen Kennedy (pictured above with George Lucas) said that the new team of filmmakers is "looking at all the 'Star Wars' movies and getting a feel for what even some of the early films did, combining real locations and special effects -- that's something we're looking at very seriously."

Computer-generated monstrosities like Jar Jar Binks and that weird diner owner (remember that guy?) might be in short supply in the new film, too. "It's using model makers; it's using real droids; it's taking advantage of artwork that you actually can touch and feel," Kennedy explained. "And we want to do that in combination with CG effects. We figure that's what will make it real."

"We have an amazing team at ILM, who can create fantastic effects, but if we don't have a great story and characters, the effects mean nothing," Kennedy said of Industrial Light & Magic, the visual effects house started by Lucas for the first "Star Wars."

The team assembled includes director Abrams, screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan, who co-wrote "Return of the Jedi" and "The Empire Strikes Back," screenwriter Michael Arndt, who wrote "Toy Story 3" and won an Oscar for "Little Miss Sunshine," and writer/producer Simon Kinberg, who was involved in this week's "Elysium" (amongst countless other things).

"I think the team we've assembled, everyone gets on so amazingly well -- it's been fantastic," Kennedy gushed.

Of course, the real test of how amazingly well everyone has been getting along will be the finished film (or at least footage from it). And that's still far, far away. "Star Wars: Episode VII" is set to hit theaters in 2015.

Producer Hopes 'The Legend Of Conan' With Arnold Schwarzenegger Will Kickstart A New Trilogy

 by Drew Taylor

Fredrik Malmberg, the CEO of Paradox Entertainment, a company that currently holds the rights to the "Conan the Barbarian" franchise (originally created by pulp author Robert E. Howard), claims that the new 'Conan' movie, which is slated to star Arnold Schwarzenegger in the iconic role he made famous back in 1982, will actually/hopefully be the first part of a new trilogy. Good lord that's a lot of Conan!

"We have a great story," Malmberg told The Arnold Fans (via Total Film). "Everyone loves it. This is a role that’s perfect for [Arnold] and he’s very involved with the whole Universal team. It’s the best team they have. Arnold has been very instrumental to bringing this together saying, ‘We gotta make a good Conan!’"

Apparently the new film will disregard both the sequel, "Conan the Destroyer," which also starred Schwarzenegger, and 2011's abysmal remake. What it can't disregard, of course, is the franchise-hungry movie-making climate (keep in mind Universal, home to the endless "Fast and Furious" series, is behind the sequel). "I think if we do this right, we can do two more Conan movies right after," Malmberg continued. "I think 'Game Of Thrones' also shows a huge interest in fantasy. I’m psyched about it."

Malmberg also revealed a little bit about the movie's plot, which under the title "The Legend of Conan" and is being written by "Fast and Furious" mainstay Chris Morgan: "The idea is that this takes place after Conan has been king. But this is the legend of Conan where he has been gone and people say, ‘Do you remember the good ol’ days when Conan was around?’ And now it’s time for him to come back." He also claimed that they would not be going with an "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" approach and try to pass the franchise off to a younger actor ("This is Arnold's movie!") and said that the movie would most likely feature more of Basil Poledouris' unforgettable score, after an hour of unused material was recently discovered.

While a lot of Malmberg's claims sound like the overexcited ravings of a hype man trying to generate excitement for his project, there are enough specifics to think that it is probably a go movie. But what about a go trilogy? Is anyone really that excited about future Conan adventures? Or is one just enough nostalgia?

Jamie Foxx is ‘aggressively pursuing’ a new Spawn movie

by Josh Wigler

(CBR) Jamie Foxx is set to terrorize Peter Parker next summer in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, playing the charged-up villain Electro. But playing Max Dillon isn’t the end of Foxx’s comic-book movie ambitions. In a new interview, the Oscar-winning actor revealed a dream project he wants to star in: an adaptation of Todd McFarlane’s "Spawn."

“Spawn is one, yeah,” Foxx told Movies.com when asked about movies he wants to make happen. “And Mike Tyson. Those are two roles I would just love to do. I’m aggressively pursuing them.”

Foxx as Tyson is a big enough prospect for its own post, but his “aggressive” desire to play Al Simmons is especially interesting for comic book fans. Previously, Michael Jai White played "Spawn"  in the 1997 film  that didn’t receive the kindest reviews, while Keith David lent his voice to the demonic antihero for HBO’s animated series. In today’s world of constant comic-book movie releases, another Spawn is all but inevitable, especially considering that McFarlane wants to make the movie himself.

“Since [Spawn is] floating out there, someone’s always bugging me and going, ‘We’re looking to [buy] this independent stuff because we can’t get the X-Men or Spider-Man or Superman… so when are you going to let us have a shot at this?’” McFarlane told CBR News in 2010. “It’s been happening for the last few years nonstop, and it’s time for me to take advantage of it by finishing the script, trying to make the deal and see if I can direct it.”

Almost three full years have passed since that interview, with little public movement on the movie’s development. Perhaps Foxx’s announced interest will finally bring "Spawn back to life.

‘The Amazing Spider-Man 4′ To Feature Sinister Six?

The Amazing Spiderman 2 hasn’t even hit theaters yet, but we may already have a clue as to what we can expect from The Amazing Spiderman 4! We know it’s a little far in advance, but hey, when Marc Webb talks, we gotta tell you about it. The Spidey director sat down with Crave Online, and his plans for the franchise’s future may surprise you. Webb said that he originally thought of these Amazing Spiderman movies as a trilogy, and that there was a structured outline for the story.

However, for the fourth film the director made it seem like he wanted to bring in other “ancillary” characters from this Spider-Man world, and that quote “It might not be just a Spider-Man movie.” Alright! This sounds kinda interesting, considering none of the other heroes in the Spiderman Universe have ever really had any screen time. Webb said quote ” You know, what was fun about the comics is that there’s an entire sort of encyclopedia of characters and stories and histories and nuances and idiosyncrasies and off-shoots.

I think that that is something that seems to be really successful and has a lot of potential so it’s sort of, as yet, undefined, but intentionally so.” Ok, so which characters do we think could make an appearance in The Amazing Spiderman 4? Well, with a number of potential characters being introduced just in next year’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2, things are potentially looking like we could actually see the creation of the Sinister Six come into the picture with Peter finally learning about the secrets behind his family’s history.

Star Wars sequels to be scored by John Williams

Composer John Williams is to return to score Star Wars: Episode VII, it has been announced.

The Oscar-winner, who has composed all six films in the sci-fi saga, said he was "happy to be continuing to be part of the whole fun" of the franchise.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy confirmed the news at a Star Wars fan event in Germany.
In an interview with StarWars.com, Williams hinted he would likely use some of the music from previous films.

"I haven't seen the script, so the story is still unknown to me, but I can't image there will not be some references to the existing stories that would make appropriate use of some of the earlier themes," he said.
The composer has won five Oscars over his 60-year career for his famous film scores including Jaws, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial and the first Star Wars film.

He has also been nominated for more than 40 other Academy Awards for his work on movies including Superman, the Indiana Jones films, Saving Private Ryan and most recently, Lincoln.

In April, Episode VII director JJ Abrams indicated he wanted Williams to score his film, but said it was "early days".

In his latest interview, Williams praised the director saying he was "perfectly chosen to continue George Lucas's great odyssey".

Star Wars: Episode VII is scheduled to be released in 2015.

Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher told to `slim down` for `Star Wars` role

London: Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, who played two of `Star Wars` best-loved characters- Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker, have been told to lose weight for the new Star Wars film.

The pair has allegedly been told to slim down before the film begins later this year if they are to resemble their original characters, the Daily Express reported.

A source told the Sun that the duo needs to be as close to their appearance in the earlier movies as possible.

According to the publication, the pair has been assigned nutritionists and personal trainers to work with them ahead of the production.

The source added that producers are keen to help out and have offered support as the budget of the film is huge so there will be no expense spared.
